More Information

Over fifteen years ago, a group of well-talented musicians formed a band that is known today as En Vivo, a Latin Style band comprised of six well-talented and seasoned musicians. They originally formed as “Amigos” and maintained that name for many years. However, in 2009, after having to share the name Amigos with other known bands, they made a decision to change their name to “En Vivo”, which captures the essence of their energetic and lively sound.

En Vivo is known for their smooth yet rich quality of sound and energy with their original songs as well as their own arranged favorite cover-tunes. As En Vivo performs, they keep their crowd dancing and moving while also having the ability to touch their hearts with the soul and words of their original music.

Eleven time Grammy winner, singer, songwriter, and producer Tony Lindsay has released his long awaited third album that is currently self-titled. Tony Lindsay is internationally known as the lead singer for guitar legend Carlos Santana and he can be heard on such hit albums as "Milagro," "Shaman," "Ceremony," "Food for Thought," and "Supernatural," for which Tony received eleven Grammys. When not working with Carlos Santana, Tony has recorded with many major artists such as Narada Michael Walden, Tevin Campbell, The O’Jays, Al Jarreau, Curtis Mayfield, Smash Mouth, The Whispers, Shanice Wilson, Steve Winwood, Johnny Gill, Teddy Pendergrass, Aretha Franklin and Lou Rawls. Tony also performs with his own band Spangalang; a Bay Area staple in northern California, Spangalang has opened for the likes of Curtis Mayfield, Tower of Power, Gerald Albright, Jr. Walker, and the Average White Band.

With 20+ original songs already under their belt, along with numerous popular cover songs, Gladiators of Rock are a sort of a Latin Von Trapp Family whose recent appearance at Carnaval was an impressive performance. Recent finalists in the Battle of Bands at SF's DNA Lounge, they will bring their family group to Slim's tonight to perform their award winning music.
